IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
MINING INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME: (Ref: IVP-HRD- 2614)
The purpose of the opportunity is to offer experiential learning to formally qualified candidates with relevant Mining Degree (Minimum NQF Level 7) speciality acquiring the skills in the following disciplines, relevant to Ivanplats Mine:
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mining/ Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mining/ Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEng Tech) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Mining Engineering. The programme is intended to empower learners to acquire knowledge, skills, attributes and values required to operate confidently in the Mining working environment and to respond to the challenges of economic development.
Suitable candidates must meet the following minimum requirements

· Grade 12, with completed degree or official
confirmation letter on completion of the course from the university,
· South African Identify Document (SA ID), CV and certified copies of qualifications,
· Proof of residence,
Key functional areas/essential functions:
· Participating in training and mentoring programmes as part of learning pathway.
· Conventional Mining Exposure
· On the Job Shadow of all relevant Mining sections.
· Rotational exposure of all Mining activities department.
· Monitoring ground behaviour using instrumentation.
· Supporting the Mining Team department where required.
· Ensuring compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
Duration and Conditions:
· The successful candidates will be enrolled in an internship programme for a maximum of 2 Years depending on the applicant performance.
· Candidates must be prepared to work underground and on surface, in all mining operations.
· Must pass all the relevant medical fitness examination and relevant assessment.
· Basic Mining environment experience/ understanding will add as an advantage.
· Must be unemployed.
