IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

Experienced Scaffolding Inspectors REF: IVP-MD-2609

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       Grade 12 qualification (only applicants with Grade 12 will be considered).

·       A valid, accredited training certificate applicable to the trade of a Scaffold Inspector.

·       Please bring your last payslip together with your CV and any other training certificates you have.

·       Good physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor construction conditions.

·       Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

·       Strong commitment to safety and site discipline.

·       No fear of working at heights.

·       Previous experience in this position will be given preference.

Suitable candidates must have the following Traits:

·       Hardworking, reliable and safety-conscious Scaffold Inspector.

     The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

·       The safe management and inspection of: Erection and dismantling of all types of scaffolding in particular the use of Kwikstage scaffolding at heights. You will need to be able to read and interpret scaffold drawings, coordinate resources and follow safe working procedures.

·       Perform additional work when no Scaffold Inspection work is available such as manual labour duties and when instructed by supervisors.

·       Assist project teams with civil construction tasks, including concrete works, slip forming, shift work and related activities.

·       Work overtime when operationally required, always maintain a clean and safe work area.

·       Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and site-specific procedures.

Please Note:

·       This opportunity is strictly for Scaffold Inspectors, a three (3) months limited-duration contract may be offered with possibility of extension.

·       Successful candidates must be physically fit and able to work on a civil construction site.

·       Transportation to and from work and accommodation is the employee’s responsibility, as the position is for local candidates only.

·       There are no allowances of any form.
