Sibanye-Stillwater is a multinational mining and metals processing group headquartered in South Africa. The company is one of the world’s largest producers of platinum group metals (PGMs) — including platinum, palladium, and rhodium — and is also a major gold producer. In addition, Sibanye-Stillwater operates in battery metals, recycling, tailings retreatment, and energy transition minerals, with operations across Africa, North America, Europe, and Australia .
Originally formed from the unbundling of Gold Fields’ South African operations, the company was founded in November 2012 and later rebranded to Sibanye-Stillwater after acquiring Stillwater Mining Company in the USA.
